Vehicle Description

This is my 1956 Pontiac Star Chief. It is a road worthy car, we've taken it on many car tours and to car shows. Original motor, trans, rear end. 317 V8. 4 Barrel, dual exhaust, which in 1956 were Star Chief options only. Very rare FATORY air conditioning. It blows cool, but not ice cold. Low on freon? Four cans of R12 freon will come with the car. R12 freon is getting hard to find. AC compressor works great. Wipers, lights, signals, horn, heater, all works. Factory Power steering and Factory power brakes work great. Power antenna no longer works, but you can here it trying to go up and down with the switch. There are a lot of little features and special options. Working spotlight, and trunk light that goes around the car are just a few. Beautiful original unrestored vehicle. It's had some paint touch up over the years. I literally took the plastic off the back seat when I bought it from the original owners family. Interior is original and beautiful! Factory chrome tow hitch. Hood ornament still lights up too. Not a perfect car, but a very nice, drivable, original car. Some lacquer check on hood paint. Windshield has been repaired, you can see the repair, but not in line of sight. no cracked or broken glass. Even the vent windows work. All windows working. Tires are Coker reproduction White Walls installed in 2018, bias ply. Bias ply tires make vehicles "roam" on the highway a little. Coker makes radial tires now which is much better... It has a new fuel sending unit in the gas tank and front left wheel bearing has recently replaced a couple years ago. Battery less then a year old. The carburetor was soaked, stripped and rebuilt 2 years ago. A new carburetor float was sourced and installed with the carburetor kit. The car is mechanically sound, and I still drive it.
