Vehicle Description

NO RESERVE-there seem to be a lot of "I'm really interested please hold it for me" types- IF YOU ARE THE HIGHEST BIDDER THIS BEAUTY IS YOURS-Make an offer I can't (won't) refuse-if you are truly interested the worst that can happen is I won't accept your offer but I might surprise you. This is an opportunity to get into the seat of a vintage race car (which would also be a terrific street car), fully sorted and ready to go-this 1951 TD was set up for racing in 2016 (has log book-CVAR) and raced in many events including Roebling, Hallett, Sebring, Pittsburgh, COTA through 2018. COVID put a damper on racing and the previous owner has hung up his spurs. The car would be fun at track days or could be converted into an awesome street machine. The car has addressed many problems experience by TDs-lack of power-after installing a Ford V-8 60HP flathead the builder decided to switch to a TR 3 engine and transmission-plenty of power-comparable weight. braking issues-installed MGB disc brakes, rear end updated suspension components-shocks, sway bar, A arms. Car has a fire suppression system, fuel cell, custom dash, rewired, aluminum radiator, switch controlled electric fan, Tilton brake system, hard wired transponder, Optima battery, two bomber seats (one for passenger), Brooklands wind screens (2), MGB differential (see pix), new 72 spoke wire wheels (MGB hubs) with new Dunlop vintage race tires plus an unused spare wheel and tire (see pix) and a really well built roll bar. Car has a Florida title and is currently registered for the street. Although not installed, it has headlights mounted on bracket.Other than some stone chips, the body cleans up very smartly. I have been considering painting front and rear fenders black after a quick scuff. I like the two tone look. The car needs only routine prep for the track (check and/or replace fluids) I would flush the brake fluid because the car has been sitting but brakes work and pedal is hard. Seat belts (Race Quip) will need replacing for most race organizations. I would suggest getting fire supression system recharged although needle is in green. Grade 8 thoughout. The engine is strong and has all the power you want.. Reinstalling the head lights is a very minor project.Car is in Orlando and I will help with transporting. Questions? Please ask. I have priced the car so that a newer member joining the world of vintage racing can enter without a second mortgage. I have raced TDs forever (see article attached) and the vintage members are great. I just bought a 1929 Model A speedster that raced on the beach here in Florida in the 40's and 50's and my "regular" vintage race car is being prepped for the season. If you are interested ask a question or make me an offer.
