1988 lincoln town car signature sedan 5.0 25k miles Rare Moonroof NO RESERVE !

Vehicle Description
Up for sale is a beautiful 1988 Lincoln Town Car Signature. This is what we call a ‘condo car’ here in SW Florida. It was used in FL during the winter months and some spring/summers it was taken back to WI. We bought this Lincoln from the Mecum auction in Kissimmee 3 months ago for a total of $7,350 after taxes and fees. I am a Lincoln/Cadillac enthusiast and the only reason I am selling it is to make room for a 13,000 mile 1992 Cadillac Brougham d’Delegance.
This Town Car has the rare ASC moonroof that is integrated into the vinyl top. It also has 26k miles and has been garage kept all its life. It did not see WI winters so there is no rust. When we bought it in January I had a local shop go through the Lincoln and update what was necessary. It received a fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, oil change, trans fluid change, new belts, and new white wall tires. The a/c is the original R12 system and was recharged with Envirosafe Arctic R12 and now blows cold. I had to source a drivers window regulator which was no easy feat. Luckily I found a NOS regulator and now the window works flawlessly. I have put $1,400 in it to make it a reliable ride. Needless to say it runs amazing and has made it to several local cars and coffee / car shows in the last few months.
The Lincoln exterior is finished in Arctic White with matching vinyl top. The interior is Medium Parchment with matching headliner, door panels, dash, and carpet. I have not seen many white Town Cars of this generation with this color combination. According to the Lincoln forums, this is 1 of 114 in this color combo but 1 of 9 with the moonroof!
Everything is intact in this Town Car. It has the original owners manuals, two sets of keys, original jack/wrench, and original spare tire. All the power options work (radio, windows, seats, mirrors, antenna, moonroof, digital dash, etc). The two rear windows are slow coming up but still work. HVAC system works on all modes with working blend door. Power trunk pull down works 100%. Even the driver mirror thermometer works!
Mechanically it drives like a dream. Suspension is nice and floats down the road but without any ‘bouncing.’ The steering is great and no issues with the front end components or rear differential. The 5.0 liter V8 sounds and operates great. Transmission shifts through all gears; for the first 3 minutes when cold it has a harder 3-4 shift which goes away when warmed up. The trans fluid was changed and showed no sign of any metal bits or wear. I was told this may be due to a cable attached to the throttle body but it was not concerning enough for me to investigate further. My 1988 Lincoln Mark VII shifts very similar but takes closer to 10 minutes for it to get super smooth in the 3-4 shift.
Cosmetically it looks amazing. The paint is in great shape and appears to be a quality newer repaint. The vinyl top is still in great shape without any tears or fading. All the chrome and stainless is in great shape as you can see by the pictures. The 15 inch Cragar 30 spoke wire wheels look amazing. These rare wheels run $3500 for as set of four! I also have four Lincoln centercaps that are included in case you want to swap out the Cragar caps. The wheels balanced great and there are no sign of any air leaks.
The interior is in amazing shape. Only flaw is the top of the glovebox has the typical vinyl sag but not significant and still operates 100%. Seats are like new and very comfortable. Rear seats look like they were never sat in. Carpet, headliner, trunk carpet, dash, all are in great shape.
Basically I fell in love with this car just because the color combo and mileage. I drove it back from Kissimmee to Naples with no issue (and this was prior to the service!). I am into this Town car for $8500 at this point. I am selling it with NO RESERVE in the hopes it goes to a good home where it can be appreciated and driven. This Town Car would make a great weekend cruiser, show car, or even daily driver if you want to be different.
