Vehicle Description

Very nice rock solid one of very few made Factory V/8 4-speed San Jose California built Pace cars. Western state body solid and straight as a 1950's American steel nail w 100% solid rust free floors,(see pic's). Perfect Recaro seats are (no longer with car). Vehicle has perfect doors and door bottoms plus perfect hatch and underside lip all rust free. Only two small holes by rear mud flaps that have been there for decades where dirt was never cleaned out behind flaps. Also comes with a real nice original paint roof skin section (pictured) that can have all a/b/c pillars trimmed off for the sunroof shipping. This was a common issue on all sunroof mustangs and capri's from dirt and debris not being cleaned out regularly even in desert areas. Most pace cars were built back east in Dearborn MI. and many were also 4 cylinder cars or automatic. This vehicle was also optioned out well with the rear hatch wiper option and 5.0 4-speed option. Vehicle has black pony wheels with a Indy 500 wing imprinted in the sidewall. Body is complete with all pace car items and in excellent condition to repaint the pewter metallic paint and restripe. Car comes with complete upper and lower new Ford stripe kit in large original carton, plus many more pace car decals in cartons with an extra very nice pace car hood with scoop. Dashboard and both dash pad are in excellent condition with everything still on dash including passenger side Indy wing emblem above glove box. Also has it's original large thick leather padded cobra style pace car steering wheel. The interior door panels are mint with no uv breakdown ever at all. (rare to find) Drivetrain is complete underneath less exhaust.As pictured Interior only needs new black carpet in seating area and cargo area, both Recaro seats front and back to be correct, and new headliner, as is. Everything else is there to make a real nice interior again.Can also sell vehicle with all it's original complete perfect black pace car Recaro interior that was removed ie, all Recaro seats, carpet, trim, console seat belt's etc. And change the red interior out if desired add the stock exhaust and stock wheels pictured for 12K or close offer that will make inside the vehicles interior very nice again.Original seats were replaced with a good set of dark red vinyl seats and seat belts front and rear with console. Will need new windshield from being yellowed on top tint area and some cracks, but needs to be removed anyway like the drip rail moldings as doe's the hatch (unbolt and slide down) to cut spot welds and weld in the extra replacement oem sunroof panel pictured that will go with car.This is an excellent starting point with great structural bones and solid straight body for a first class restoration of a factory west coast built V/8 4-speed pace car.Original engine as is will not have enough power to drive up on carrier transport as it is without a winch, Engine is very weak with only 7 cylinders firing due to low compression in one cylinder. Do have a great running 89 Mass air 5.0 engine complete with everything on it available for an extra $500.00Can also include the original complete perfect black pace car Recaro seat interior with pace car high pile carpet stock wheels and chrome tip one piece exhaust for 12K or best offer for everything total.
