Vehicle Description

Very nice rock solid one of very few made Factory V/8 4-speed San Jose California Pace cars. Body is a solid western state body with excellent solid rust free floors, exterior body, perfect doors and door bottoms plus perfect hatch and underside lip all rust free. Only two small holes by rear mud flaps where dirt was never cleaned out. Most of these were built in Dearborn MI. and many were also 4 cylinder cars. This vehicle was also optioned out with the rear hatch wiper option with the 5.0 4-speed option. Vehicle has black pony wheels on it now with the Indy 500 wings imprinted in the sidewall. The original trx Ford Metric wheels shown on ground with good tires plus one nos tire never mounted is included with vehicle and all 5 are the larger 220 55 size. The body is complete with all pace car items and in excellent condition to repaint the faded pewter metallic that has faded. Car will also come with complete upper and lower new Ford stripe kits, plus a lot of extra pace car decals as well. Dashboard and both dash pad are in excellent condition with everything still on it including the passenger side Indy wing emblem above glove box. It also has the original large thick leather padded cobra style pace car steering wheel. The interior door panels are mint with no uv breakdown ever at all. (rare to find) Drivetrain is complete underneath and will come with the original Pace car one piece twin chrome exhaust pipe section and muffler to put back under car.(see photo). It was removed when it was decided to restore the car with a modern 5.0 5-speed but did not follow through. There is a complete 1982 Mustang GT engine and transmission attached together ready to slip in for the buy it now price that ran and drove great before pulling if you want it with the vehicle for a quick cheap fix.Interior will need new black carpet, both Recaro seats front and back to be correct, new headliner and rear cargo carpet.Original seats were replaced with a good set of dark red vinyl seats and seat belts front and rear with console. Again the original dash and door panels are in mint original condition. Will also need new windshield from being yellowed on top tint area and cracks, but needs to be removed anyway like the drip rail moldings as the hatch does (unbolt and slide down) to cut spot welds and weld in the extra replacement oem sunroof panel that will go with car.This rock solid vehicle is an excellent starting point for a first class restoration. Will include the complete good running 1982 Mustang gt drivetrain for buy it now price or you can make offer without it and rebuild the stock 5.0 engine if desired.
