1957 Willys CJ5

Vehicle Description
Vintage 1957 Willys CJ-5 Jeep 4 x 4
This is an early model CJ-5 Jeep, built by the Willys Motor Company, powered by the original six volt F4-134 engine (4 cylinder, 134 cubic inch displacement, 75 Hp) and a T-90A1 three forward - one reverse speed transmission, with a two speed four wheel drive transfer case. This Jeep is bare bones. No heater or AC, no top or doors, no radio, and only a driver's seat. It does have a new (in box) Bestop bikini top, a roll bar, a new tailgate, and a new under seat tool box. The fuel tank is clean, but is mounted in the rear passenger area. The brakes have been re-conditioned with new pads, new wheel cylinders, new brake lines, and new master cylinder. The brakes have not been bled. There is no emergency brake. The clutch, clutch bearing, and clutch release fork arebrand new.The clutch has not been adjusted since installation. The headlights and taillights are new.The coil, regulator, horn, points, and distributor are all six volt and are new.The windshield frame and rubber seals are new, but there is no glass. The engine was removed, cleaned, stripped, and painted, the head was removed, refreshed, all valves inspected and adjusted, and reinstalled with a new gasket. The water pump, thermostat, and hoses are new. All fluids are new.The engine mounts, transmission mount, and transaxle mount are all new.The carburetor is new, but includes the original Carter YF carburetor. The fuel lines are new. The exhaust is new from from the manifold back. The front axle hubs were serviced, bronze bushings replaced, and repacked.
It has its original 15" steel wheels. Tires are used Goodyear Wranglers. Thespare tire & wheel areside mounted. The tub is serviceable, but not the greatest. It has aluminum diamond plate on the tub. The frame is okay, but has been welded. The suspension is virtually all new, with new shocks, new axle snubbers, new shackles, new connecting hardware, andreconditioned leaf springs. The engine ran fine when reinstalled in 2023,but is now out of time and is not currently running.I have a Michigan title, along with a South Carolina bill of sale. The Michigan title shows it as a 1953 model, but the VIN shows it as a 1957.I have never titled it in South Carolina.
This Jeep is being sold as is. Bring a trailer.
