This is a truly unique vehicle and I have realyl enjoyed owning it for many years. This conversion to a Volkswagon drive train was done in Germany back in the 70's and brought back to the States by another veteran who was stationed there. I brought it to Utah 20 years ago and have just used it locally to run around town with. It has just recently had the top end of the engine replaced professionally with new heads, valves,valve guides,rods,gaskets,plug wires,plugs,carburator rebuilt,etc. Tires are good and mechanically it starts right up and runs great. I have the doors that goes with the top and they are in good shape since I never used them much. I have a clear title in hand. It is titled as a 1978 the year it was built and the model is replica 1951 Willys body style Sport utility. Check with your DMV if you think you may have problems with the title. The Jeep was done professionally and it is turn key and ready to start having fun with. All lights and turn signals work as they should. Much different than the original jeep which I thought road a bit rough myself. Truly unique and interesting piece of history. I believe it has the original Military markings and I have just the paint as it was when I aquired it. You can restore it or just drive it as is. I always get lots of smiles and waves from people when I drive it around town.
