1961 VOLVO PV-544 SPORT -Rust Free Project L@@K!

Vehicle Description
You are bidding on one 1961 Volvo – PV 544 Sport. This beautiful little project car has a worn out B16 motor that barely runs, smokes like crazy from the breather cap, and will foul out the plugs after 10 seconds, if you can get it to start! I bought this car as a project, but just dont have the time to put into restoring it. For anyone who is not aware, the Volvo PV-544 was a successful rally car in its day, and could give a Porsche 356 a run for the money. Known for their dependability, the Volvo motor could run all day and not break down. These cars are lightweight and fun to drive. Weighing only 2100 pounds, the car was rated for an amazingly frugal 35mpg on the highway. This car is equpped with a 4 speed manual transmission. The brakes were recently serviced and new hydraulic pistons for the drums; emergency brake works well. A new fuel pump was installed, and the oil and filter were recently changed with new filter and fresh oil. The body on the car is in very nice condition, showing very little rust anywhere. The seats front and rear have had slipcovers made for it, they are very nicely made. Overall, the car is in very worthy condition for restoration. The original 6 volt system has been cut, bypassed, jury rigged, and Rube Goldberged… it was shodily converted to a 12 volt system, and there are numerous wires that have been cut, bypassed, spliced - you name it. The wiring, if for some reason you don’t understand what I’m saying, is one hot mess…I will say that I was able to hear the fan motor run (weakly, but it just needs the electric motor to be cleaned and lubricated. I was also able to get the wipers working. The engine will crank over, but the motor is shot, and only has anout 90 psi in each cylinder. I was able to get it started, but there’s smoke coming out of the breather oil cap (blow-back from the cylinders) like crazy. It would only run for a few seconds, and wont restart, due to fouling the plugs. The windows crank well, and the back windows prop open with a clip at the rear of the window. Front vent windows work well. All said, this is still a worthy project for someone who wants to spend time putting a really cool car together. The best part of this car is the exceptional condition of the body.I bought this car from a ebay seller living in Tennessee. He told me that he heard the car originally belonged to a female country music singer, but did not know who it was. I guess some research could possibly show past registrations of the car, but I’m not versed in how to do that. The car comes with a clear title. It is not presently running, so it will need to be towed. I’m selling this little beauty NO RESERVE to the highest bidder. The vehicle is being sold as-is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Full payment is due within seven days, and the vehicle needs to be towed within two weeks of auctions close. I WILL NOT ACCEPTE-Bay’s secure Checkout; it’s a money making scheme through CARAMEL, designed to hold the money in escrow; so if this is what you want, then please do not bid on this car. I will accept a bank check, cashiers check, or cash if you are coming to pick the car up. If you need more time to arrange for towing, please contact me before bidding, and we can discuss the time frame you need. Timeliness is key. Feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. I’m happy to provide you with any additional information or pictures that you would like to see. The last picture in this listing is of my lead technician; not included in the sale. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
