The bus reportedly received rust repairs before being painted white and blue under prior ownership. Exterior details include deluxe belt line trim, eight pop-out side windows, Safari-style rear cargo glass and windshields, “fried egg” front turn indicators, and dual side-view mirrors. The body is not weather-tight, the front door windows are missing hardware, and rust is present along with other exterior blemishes.
The 14″ steel wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with 215/75 Westlake Radial SC328 tires. The rear suspension has been lowered, and stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The seller states that the support brace for the brake master cylinder is rusty, and the shocks and steering stabilizer have been replaced.
The front cabin features a split front bench seat trimmed in white and gray vinyl joined by matching door panels and wood flooring. Interior elements include an overhead ventilation unit, sliding side windows, and shoulder belts. The turn signal and windshield wiper switches are not mounted, and the door handles, ashtray, and passenger grab handle are missing.
The horn button is missing for the two-spoke steering wheel, which fronts a speedometer with a five-digit mechanical odometer that shows 17,761, Title reads 12,474. The seller states the odometer is not accurate, and true mileage is unknown. A replacement fuel sending unit has been installed, though the seller notes the gauge does not read accurately. Additional new fuel tank included in sale.
The replacement air-cooled flat-four has reportedly been modified to displace 1,641cc, and it was installed approximately five years ago in Peru.The seller states the engine was fitted with dual carburetors, electronic ignition, and an electric fuel pump in 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The seller states the clutch and throwout bearing have been replaced.
