1972 Volkswagen Campmobile - 2 Owner Running w/ Rebuilt Engine
Vehicle Description
2 Owner 1972 VW Campmobile with newly rebuilt engine. Clean interior with only 84,000 miles.Solid body but needs rust repairs.Pictures are available for all parts of the body and under carriage to permit evaluation of the extent of needed repairs. My son had plans travel to California which resulted in purchase of new tires. That trip was cancelled when engine failed.Hence the rebuilt engine.Less than 500 miles on rebuild. Aftermarket carburetor. Months old battery purchased in connection with preparing to sell vehicle.Camper originally sold by Michigan dealer for delivery in Germany as part of program to purchase a car and see Europe.Paperwork shows vehicle built to satisfy US standards. Radio doesn't seem to work - scratchy noises - unfamiliar controls. Original manuals and some of the paperwork included. Michigan registration current. Incomplete repair history also included. Sorry but I backed into a very strong cloths line support; hence the damage on the right rear at shoulder height (damn!). There are parts included as shown in > 100 photos available on dropbox including 2 carburetors. Rear bumper pictured was removed during engine rebuild and not replaced. Fuel pump needs work. An electric pump is being used to make the camper operational.Pictures show that there has been a rather poor paint job (poor masking) at some point. Sling under front pan seems unnecessary - there is a bolt missing. Rusted left under channel shown but right side seems solid. I have more than 100 photos available for review athttps://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/9t05uwrd4ot0asjw8wkt1/AMXEcHOQrt-up_Af0HWHbCU?rlkey=up93t6hswbyfxx52o52ah7559&st=251rif0o&dl=0which is a dropbox folder. Sorry about the poor focus on some as I was hurrying because I was borrowing the lift. If link doesn't work copy and paste address to browser.
My folks purchased this camper this camper in1978 and for some time after their passing my son was interested taking it to California and rebuilding it.That is no longer an option and I would like my heated garage space back.My dad was a bit of a car collector.I sold a 1968 Vista Cruiser of his several years ago on eBay.I am also selling an extensive inventory of model railroading items from his business where I have a fairly extensive record as an accurate and responsive seller under the eBay IDs “ledanda-1; ledanda-2 and ledanda-5.
