MANX SR2

Vehicle Description
Original Bruce Meyers designed Manx SR2 in great condition. This car is #130 out of 400 made. Bruce Meyers, the guy behind the fiberglass dune buggy bodies built onto VW Beetle chassis in the late 60's and early 70's also designed the SR and SR2. These were made for the street. Car and Driver described it as "everything the Porsche 914 should be". This car is not a reproduction. It's an actual Meyers design, built with Meyers molds and put together by KarmaCoachWorks of California. The fiberglass is in great condition for being almost 50 years old.It comes with a clean and clear title. It's built on a shortened 1967 VW chassis and titled as a 1973 Reconstruction. It is powered by an original VW 1600cc air cooled engine that has been modified into a 1750cc with an oil cooler and filter system to include an expanded oil pan. The original generator has been replaced with an alternator and the points and condenser have been upgraded to an electronic ignition. It is sitting on 4 new tires, new custom made seats and is completely solid underneath with no rust and solid pans. It will come with enough new spare parts to pretty much rebuild the engine including a new EMPI engine casing, push rods/tubes, pistons, 2 brand new double barrel Weber Carbs and much much more. It's tight on the turns and screams down the road. If I were to keep it, I would most likely install a new wiring harness but it's not necessary. The car has 13,400 original miles on it and will make you late for whatever you are driving to because everyone will stop you to ask questions with the most frequent being "what is that?"I'm not pressed to sell it but I will be spending the next year on the water and before I put it in storage, I thought I'd see if someone out there might make better use of it. Do not waste your time with a lowball offer. It's not happening. I'm asking $14,500 and I will not negotiate with anyone who hasn't seen the car. By that I mean, if you send me a message asking me my best price I will simply refer you to the number above which is $14,500 Proof of funds required before any test drive.
