This is a 1972 VW Bay window Westfalia Campwagwon van in excellent original condition! Interior is in exceptionally original/ clean / amazing condition. Very little rust. Never restored. Has some very cool and tasteful period-correct upgrades, like : Gene Berg locking shifter, tachometer, Webasto timer-operated gasoline heate, and Weber dual 40 IDF carburetors. External oil cooer / oil fileter . Webasto heater has been taken out to be serviced and will be included with sale. Paint looks great. Start, runs and drives great. Brand new tires. Has almost all available accessories available at the time: front hammock/ cot, pop top with cot upstair, folding bed downstairs, icebox, sink, accommodations for second batter, mosquito nets all around... I really love this bus. I bought it several months ag, it had been sitting for years and I brought it back to life. It is my favorite vehicle of the last several years. My kids love it ! My problems with it are: I like to travel on long trips camping, and it is pretty slow ( I dont go over 60 MPH in it), and susceptible to sidewinds - it gets blown around on the open road and it feels unsafe with my kids in i, which is really why I have it - for trips with my kids. It also only has lap seat belts for them, so more unsafe. I have a newer Eurovan style camper Westfalia als, and while not as cool, I know I will use it more as we can go safely 70MPH in it and get 17 - 20 MPG in it as well. So in short, I think of this bus as a desirable collectors item, beautiful to look a, a good investment, and fun - a toy - but not necessarily a great choice for me to be a daily drive, or something I can realistically use for long trips. I need something else I can use as a daily driver at the moment. What else can I tell you about this VW?
