Small rust (bubble spot) under the rear hatch window could be fixed and re sprayed black or tan.2. The TDI has a hot start issue its not affected us so we have not addressed it. When you drive the van a good amount of distance when you shut it off you have to wait 5 or so min before you can re start the van and then it fires right back up. If you look up the AHU 1.9 TDI you can read more its a common problem just needs tuned out of it. 3. Few small dings here and there.We have owned the van for a little over 2 years now with tons of adventures under our belt. We have owned several vanagons and this by far is our favorite. The 1.9TDI is a game changer for reliability power and fuel economy. The van is not perfect but what 80s vanagon is.
