1983 Volkswagen Scirocco Wolfs-burg for sale. It has less then 1000 miles on the new tires, new exhaust increased to 2 inch and 5 speed manual transmission. The 1.6 liter non turbo charged motor has about 20,000 miles since last rebuild. The body has more than 200,000, but all mechanical items have been maintained or replaced. The motor is from a 1986 Jetta and has hydraulic lifters. The injector pump is about 1 year old. The car was repainted 2 years ago and has been kept in the garage. It is not show quality and has a few dings and wear marks.There was no rust found in this car when it was repainted the original Mars red. The spare tire and tools are still stored and I am including a full size spare with matching wheel. The dash has cracks in it and the driver seat is worn and torn, but comfortable. The wheel bearings and rear brakes were recently replaced as well. This car was set up for function rather than show. My commute to work gets me about 48 miles to the gallon, but if I go for a longer drive (90 minutes) it gets 52 mpg. There are some new spare parts in the trunk (timing belt, other belts, glow plugs and fuel shut off valve and more including the timing belt cover and bolts). This car is ready to drive, but considering it is 33 years old a trailer may be better for long distance. The A/C blows cold air, but at take offs I will turn it off because of the normal power of the 1.6 diesel. All gears are good and there are no issues with the clutch, brakes or other mechanical systems. The electrical system works well. The tach does not work ( there are components included,b that have not been installed). I added a volt meter and oil pressure gauge to monitor while driving.
