1962 Triumph TR3A

This is a very nice example of a Triumph TR3a with great history.

The car had been stored in a garage for a long time by the widow of the first owner.When I eventually bought the car, it just had to be cleaned up and polished. I didn't want to restore a car which was in this sort of condition and opted to conserve its patina. I made sure it was safe to drive (new brakes, cylinders and converted to silicone brake fluid etc) and reliable (rebuilt carburetors, converted to modern oil filters etc.).

There was a repair done to the passenger side door in the late 60s to remove a dent. The underside of the car body has been rust proofed.

The car's odometer shows less than 16,000 miles which may very well be the original mileage, since it was sitting for so long.

The paint shows nice but if you look closely, you see the signs of age such as touchups and 'spiderweb' cracks. The paint on the passenger side door shows signs of the repair.

On a car meet this car sticks out amongst all the other restored TR3s. It's easier to find a restored one than one with patina...
