This 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 shows just 46,000 original miles and benefits from a professional body and paint restoration completed nine years ago in its original red. The paint retains a deep gloss and rich color, with some light scratches, chips, and minor cracks visible on close inspection—none of which detract from its overall presentation.
Mechanical Condition
The engine was rebuilt approximately 3,000 miles ago and remains in excellent health. It starts instantly, holds strong oil pressure, and delivers a smooth, eager pull throughout the rev range. The 4-speed gearbox shifts cleanly with no grinding or pop-out, and the suspension feels exactly as a Spitfire should—nimble, lively, and fun. A new stainless-steel muffler was just installed, and the car is mechanically ready for enjoyment, though the tires are older and should be replaced before spirited driving.
Exterior & Interior
The exterior finish is complemented by a black convertible top in good, usable condition. The biscuit interior seats and black carpets present well. The original dashboard shows typical cracking and minor delamination consistent with age. There is a small tear in the driver’s seat vinyl, but otherwise, the cabin retains its vintage charm and is perfectly usable.
Chassis & Undercarriage
The undercarriage is very solid and straight, showing no evidence of rot or structural damage.
