1972 Triumph GT6 – Honest, Well-Sorted Driver | Believed 47,008 Original Miles

Available for sale is this 1972 Triumph GT6, a very presentable and well-maintained driver that runs strong and offers an ideal blend of originality and usability. Nicely restored several years ago, the car has held up well and remains an excellent candidate for spirited weekend drives or casual errands.

The engine starts instantly, runs smoothly, and holds healthy oil pressure. It’s well-tuned and responsive throughout the rev range. The 4-speed gearbox shifts confidently with no grinding or pop-out, and the clutch engages well and feels strong. The odometer shows a believed 47,008 miles, and all gauges are currently operational.

The engine bay is clean and very presentable. The suspension was rebuilt during the restoration, and handling remains tight and composed. Tires are in good condition, and the car has seen fewer than 500 miles since receiving new Rotoflex driveline couplings. There is a minor gear case drip, which is typical for these cars and not concerning for immediate use.

Cosmetically, the GT6 presents well as a driver. The body was professionally repainted during the restoration and still shows nicely, with a consistent finish and good shine. However, there are some paint chips and scratches throughout the exterior (see images). The interior is also in good, usable condition with some wear spots and blemishes consistent with age. The dash wood veneer shows some patina and cracking. There is some staining on the rear headliner (see images), but the overall presentation remains tidy and very approachable.

This GT6 is an honest, turn-key example of Triumph’s beloved fastback coupe—well-sorted mechanically, presentable cosmetically, and ready to be enjoyed immediately. Whether you’re seeking a vintage car that you can drive with confidence or a solid base for future refinement, this Triumph fits the bill.
