1961 Triumph TR3A, Numbers Matching, Originally Powder Blue with Blue Leather

Vehicle Description

This is a numbers-matching 1961 Triumph TR3 that needs restoration. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate comes with the car as shown in the pictures. BODY / FLOORS / FRAME / PAINT: The frame looks reasonably solid with normal surface rust. The original floors were replaced at some point with galvanized sheet metal. The front apron was changed to the earlier small-mouth version at some point in the past. It has typical rust, chips, scratches, and dings, but the body panel alignment is pretty good.

MECHANICAL: This car is currently not running or driving, but it rolls and steers, the parking brake works, and the tires hold air. The previous owner told me that the engine ran well when he began disassembling it for restoration. He did not get very far on the disassembly before deciding to sell it due to health issues. I have not tried to start it, but the engine does turn by hand. The odometer reads 82,695 and the title states that it is the actual mileage. All the parts shown in the pictures come with it and are packed in the car ready for transport.

TITLE TRANSFER AND PAPERWORK: I am a long-time classic car hobbyist and a licensed Florida car dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means that you must complete the required sales and title transfer forms with me, which can be done in person or through mail. The car cannot be released until I have received all completed paperwork and payment in full.

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the listing. The balance must be paid by cash or wire transfer within seven days. eBay / Caramel checkout is not accepted. If the buyer does not pay in accordance with these requirements, I may re-list/re-market the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the buyer.

DOCUMENTATION FEE: A flat fee of $100 is added on all vehicle purchases to help cover postage, paperwork, vehicle preparation, and other costs. Please understand that this fee cannot be waived. This fee applies regardless of whether you are an individual or a dealer.

SALES TAX: If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by commercial carrier, I will not need to collect sales tax (you will take care of that where you live.) If you live in Florida, I am required to collect sales tax and tag/title fees. If you live in another state but want to pick up the car in Florida, I am still required to collect sales tax, but most states will give you credit for the sales tax I collect (in this case the sales tax rate will be the lesser of 6% or the rate that applies to you in your state.) Please feel free to contact me to find out how the tax rules will apply for your specific state and whether you will get credit for the tax paid.

SHIPPING: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I am happy to cooperate with whatever shipping company you choose.
