Vehicle Description

Up for sale/auction is a very rare 1957 Triumph Tr3 "Small Mouth" roadster. This car sat in a indoor storage unit for 30 + years and was recently reconditioned for the road. It runs great and drives well. New tune up parts include NGK spark plugs, 8MM heavy duty racing wires, dist cap, rotor, points, coil and condenser. Oil and filter changed with Valvoline 20W50 VR1 and 98 octane racing ethanol racing fuel used to fill tank ($15/gallon). Carbs cleaned, and tuned with new fuel lines and complete brake rebuild including new front and rear pads, flex lines and rear brake cylinders. Everything works including all gauges. Tach is a bit bouncy. New voltage regulator and starter solenoid for added reliability. Oil pressure is steady at 60lbs and idles at approx 800 rpms. Engine runs cool and doesn't overheat.Engine was upgraded to a Tr4 A 2.2L (2138cc) 105 HP and Tr4A all syncro gearbox for driving pleasure. Engine is in great condition and runs and drives exceptional for a 67 year old Triumph. Doesnt smoke or are there any major oil leaks or run on . 4 speed all syncro Gear box shifts well with 1st gear synchro and shifts up and down with no issues. Clutch operates fine as well and doesnt rquire much pressure just really easy to drive . This car was built August 15, 1957 and is eligible for the "Mille Miglia" Italian road race and VSCCA and SCCA road racing.Car was painted a beautiful Blue in the 1980's. Paint is ok from 10 feet. Interior and dash are in good condition but needs carpet set and convertible top. Trunk and spare tire compartment are rust free and floors and frame are solid and in good condition with no major issues. I have the original tool kit, operating manuals, sales brochures that came with the car, and starter crank witch are all very rare and great to have and belong to this car.Steering wheel is original. Amber front head light lens were added but have the originals . All lights, side lights, brake lights, horn, signals and gauges work well. Goodyear tires were just mounted and speed balanced. Wheels are original and spare tire is original.Interesting bit of history, Triumph TR3's were the first production cars imported into the US with FRONT WHEEL DISC BRAKES. Braking is excellent since everything was rebuilt. So in closing, this TR3 small mouth can be enjoyed as is or taken to the next level by restoring if so desired as a great project!!!! I chose to just drive as is and not worry about getting the paint chipped or dinged just drive it and enjoy it as cheap fun.Early Tr 3 Small Mouth cars are very sought after by collectors and are rapidly appreciating. The birth certificate from the British Motor Heritage Trust is included and vin tags match the cert. This car is sold "as is" as a private sale and has a transferrable registration from NH from the previous owner. I recently lost my job so I decided to sell and not register in my name. The car is located in Huntington NY.Contact me anytime for questions or details or more photos.
