Vehicle Description

As the attached documents show, I am the original owner of this car. I bought it in 1982, from Norman Nock Motors in Stockton, California. Although I purchased the car in 1982, Norman still had a few 1980 TR's and Mg's on his lot. I wanted one with A.C. and he had one. Of interest, after I bought the car but before I took possession of it, Norman told me that the paint had flattened out a bit due to having been in the sun and the manufacturer decided to have it repainted before I received it. So this is the original paint that was on the car when I first took possession of it. It is still in good condition. This was my regular runner through 1985; I then purchased new a 1986 Chrysler LeBaron and put the TR in storage, driving it very seldom. Probably in 1997, the speedometer cable broke. Since I so rarely drove the TR, I had no reason to rush to replace the cable. Glenn, my mechanic, ordered three replacement cables before he found the correct one, which he installed on December 10, 2004 (copy receipt attached) showing 36,432 miles then on the car. As you can see from the odometer photo which I took today, it shows 37,177, so that in last 21 years, the car has been driven 745 miles. Based on DMV records, I calculated that during the time the speedometer cable was not working, the car had been driven a total of 1,898 miles. Recently, the TR had installed a new water pump, new accelerator cable, new radiator, new top, new OEM seat covers, and I had the alternator rebuilt. Car drives great! Of interest is that the California versions such as this one, all had fuel injection. Non California versions had carburetors. Virtually everything works on the car, other than the clock, which works for a couple of days after I move the fuse around and then stops. Car is a real "head turner" and looks like it just left the showroom.
