1980 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ45 Troop Carrier from Australia with right hand drive.
This beautiful Toyota Land Cruiser Troopy from Adelong, New South Wales, Australia was bought in 2010 and restored by a photographer who used it for travel around the country.The restoration was done by specialists in North Idaho. Life moved on and it was decided that the Troopy should continue with a new owner. The cost of restoration was $110 thousand, invoices are available and are included in the sale.
The Diesel engine was replaced with a 20085.3-liter LS V8 (less than 25 thousand miles) in 2010,4-wheel disc brakes,GM-sourced 700R4 automatic transmission, mechanical lockers, suspension is old man emu, front shocks are new, custom leather seats. New weatherstrip on all doors and hinges replaced on drivers door.
The original drive train, diesel engine and transmission and rear seats are included in the sale of the Troopy. This makes it possible to restore the Troopy to original condition in the future. The rear seats are also included in the sale of the Troopy. They are not installed.
Paint is glossy Silver metallic with matte paint on the hood. The top is painted in a warm white to match the seats and speedometer cluster.
Since the restoration it has driven 16,500 miles. This Troopy made a trip around the country in 2012 and for the past 13 years has been garaged. Serviced once a year during that period. Engine is rust free except for the exhaust manifold. Minimal rust underneath, rear shocks show surface rust. During the 13 years that the Troopy was garaged it was occasionally taken out for short trips of a few miles on dry days. The Troopy has never been driven on salty winter roads.
