Vehicle Description
1993 Toyota Extended Cab Pickup
For consignment, a 1993 Toyota extended cab pickup truck showing 19,229 miles, but the true mileage is unknown. This is a one owner truck and if you don't think it's a classic, count how many compact trucks from the 80's and 90's you see on the street today! JDM and Radwood shows await. Of course, it's also capable of hauling stuff.
Exterior
White paint is augmented by a sweeping gray series of stripes that run from front fender to the back of the truck adding visual interest on this otherwise square compact. The extended cab is fixed with no door and sliding rear window looks out of the bed that shows some use but is in pretty good condition. Up front, LED headlights are framed in a chrome grille over the bumper that splits chrome and black plastic. 14-inch wheels wear chrome plastic wheel covers to dress up the truck and rear mud flaps help keep it clean. Imperfection includes some scratches, cracking paint, and some bubbling, but she's been well maintained over the past 32 years and the exterior reflects this.
Interior
Other than some looseness to the vinyl, the blue door panels present cleanly where even the plastic hardware is blue. Blue cloth buckets occupy the front in good shape with a tear in the outer vinyl side of the driver's seat which is an extended bucket with pull down armrest. The passenger seat and flat, narrow rear seats are in fantastic condition. Rear side windows can be vented. The blue plastic steering wheel fronts a simple instrument cluster with just the essential information, speed, gear selection, engine temp, and fuel level. Other conditions are monitored by idiot lights. In the center, an A/C panel and an updated Kenwood AM/FM/CD radio live just above the cubby bin, ashtray, and the added plastic molded cassette tape and cup holder on the transmission hump. Low pile blue carpet appears to be in nice condition and is protected by rubber mats front and back, and the stitched headliner above looks near perfect.
Drivetrain
Under the hood, a driver quality but complete 2.4 liter four cylinder engine rated at 114 horsepower. The 4-speed automatic is controlled by a column shifter and sends power to the rear axle with 3.58 gears. Power brakes are onboard too, with discs in front and drums in back.
Undercarriage
This uniformly black underside is very clean with no rust of any kind and only some residual oil on the transmission pan. It has power steering, clear knuckles, and a single exhaust that flows through a stock style muffler before exiting behind a rear wheel. Suspension on this impressive underside includes torsion bars up front and leaf springs in the back.
Drive-Ability
They say Toyotas run like a sewing machine and this one serves as a testament as the four cylinder was a quick starter and the truck ran smoothly through the test loop, tracking straight, handling better than your F150, and providing perfect visibility. All functions on board, limited as they are, all pass the test and we head back to the mothership. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Good things sometimes come in small packages. Not only could you use this to haul more stuff than groceries, but it's also actually fun to drive. Clean on the inside and out, this has plenty of reliable life left and would make the perfect parts hauler for that hot rod you've always planned to restore. Easy to maintain, likely easy on gas, and a useful bed makes this truck one attractive compact.
