Vehicle Description

This 1990 Toyota Pickup is an original with updates to the exterior and interior. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle needs work and is used as a daily driver.

Vehicle Details

2.4L 22R inline 4 engine, two wheel drive, 4 speed manual transmission, electronic fuel injection, air conditioner (though I never used it), standard cab, rear sliding window, bench seat

Tires: 195/75R14. Spare tire under bed; jack and lug wrench behind seat

LOCATION: Near the intersection of I-10 and US-95 at Arizona/California border. (85334/92225)

MODIFICATIONS:

* Rear bumper replaced with trailer hitch receiver

* Delta crossbed toolbox with 2 keys on front of bed

* AM/FM cassette stereo and speakers in doors

* Towbar brackets mounted on front

* Rear license plate moved from bumper to tailgate

RECENT NEW PARTS: two new tires on front, battery, starter, 4 fuel injectors, 4 spark plugs, plug wires, fuel pump, fuel gauge sending unit, brake master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, gaskets.

Parts included but not installed: TPS, idle position snsr

CONDITION: Overall very good except for engine, see below. When it was running, drove well, straight, no wander or shimmy. Brakes and transmission good. Doors, windows and tailgate open/close. Some dents/scuffs to exterior, see photos. Bench seat padding rather worn; covered with one-piece seat cover, also worn. Fuel gauge works but not accurate. Check Engine light is on, unknown reason, but has been on since I've owned it (13 years).

Engine: Engine won't run smoothly, misses, little power. Things tried:

New spark plugs

New plug wires

New cap and rotor

New coil

New distributor

Drain fuel tank, fresh gas

Compression check: 165,170,155,175

I now believe the timing chain is the problem. Will have to be towed away because of lack of power. Sold As Is.
