FJ40 Fuel Injected V8, 4 Speed Trans, Rear Locker

Vehicle Description
Up for sale is my FJ40 with bug catcher wing vents. I've owned this for close to 4 years and during that time I've been restoring it. I'ma car dealer by trade and typically only keep unique or rare things for myself personally. Originally I was going to take it down to my house in Baja but realized its too nice to take their to sit and rot away in salty environment, granted the cool factor would be off the charts. I've always been a Toyotaaficionado. It took me several months of deliberation to even consider the thought of selling this vehicle becauseI know I'll never be able to replace it. I have over $35k at my wholesale COST in receipts and service at my dealership/shop in Redlands not including the initial purchase cost of the vehicle. Its not cheap to build any vehicle thankfully this one already had the motor and trans done when I got it and they were done nicely. It took me two years to find a hard top. Its a 72 top. Yes its not period correct I know you Toyota purists will correct me on that, but the grill bezel is thick side up that should count for some points back in my corner. If you have you seen the visibilityof a 65 corrugated tops, they are less than desirable if you plan to run some simple errands to pick up stuff at Home Depot or the local plant nursery on your Sundaycruise you will find its hard backing up with the older hard top. This is a nice usable vehicle, its not a museum piece but a fun respectableweekend toy, that turns heads. When you fire up the V8 it starts every time (thank you fuel injection), it sounds absolutelyamazing with the dual side exit exhaust and headers. The mufflers are shielded underneath with stainless shields to protect from heat transfer inside. If I was to keep it I would add the vintage or classic air to make the summers more pleasant especially here in CA. I also have a Bestop soft-top that has never been used (just mocked up on the tub), just stored, and soft doors that goes with the vehicle. I have one large storage tote of misc parts and OEM Toyota gaskets that I will include. I also have the original speedo/cluster that I will include. Below is the specs of the vehicle:
- 5.3L Vortec Turn Key Fuel Injected Crate motor (yes 9xx miles on this motor),
- 4 Speed Manual Trans from late 70's donor with Centerforce performance Clutch
- Painted a lighter shade of Jeep Khaki its all mono-chrome but I didn't want to match Jeep exactly. Ironically my Jeep is painted that new Toyota Green, I had to balance the equation.
- Recent Detroitlocker in rear axle (ring and pinion updated as well)
- Wilwood Front disc brake conversion, an electric E Brake interlock (this is your parking brake)
- Newer fuel tank and brand new electric fuel pump
- Upgraded to a power steering system- this makes it a blast to drive
- BeCool 4 core aluminum radiator
- BodyArmor Front and rear bumper and carrier
- 9.5TI Warn Winch in the front with Rigid lights
- New Fox shocks all around with a 2inch shackle lift
- 5 New matching ATX 16 inch Black wheels with BFG 305/70/16MT tires
- All new door felt, door seals and gaskets
- New bug catcher seals (try to find these- its very tough)
- Full Roll cage painted in automotive black paint with Cobra CB and speaker mounted and wired
- 1972 Hard Top with new glass and all new seals, and key cylinder (OEM hatch cylinders they are weak springs)
- On board Viar air compressor
- New Mastercraft RS Baja seats
- Re-wired with Painless wiring kit
- Dual battery system
- Air horns
- White Phantom Auto meter gages
- Undercarriage is POR15 coated (Best Rust Inhibitor on market this is not spray paint) We de-greased painstakingly, then thoroughly taped off things we didn't want POR and etched the bare metal then finally painted with a spray gun.
- Has been in southern California for over 24 years very very very slight rust on passenger side rocker panel that'sit. We were told previous owner was California as well, I didn't track it past that. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck....well you get the idea.
- Painted the diamond plate black with automotive paint (No there is not rust on the tub corners I can hear you guys already) the previous owner used this for trail driving on fire roads and didn't want to damage the tub knowing how hard they are to find an all steel tub.
- Entire interior tub rhino lined in black medium grit (everythingwas removed)
- Updated Hella Halogen headlights
- Heater does not work
- All lights and turn signals work properly
