1970 Studebaker Avanti 63769 Miles Black Coupe 350ci V8

Vehicle Description
Vehicle Original VIN : RQB1591
The Avanti name has an interesting past. The first and last "Studebaker" from South Bend Indiana was 63/64 model years but after the closure of the plant and the end of Studebaker Automobiles but a couple dealers bought the model name, tooling and Studebaker truck production rights and formed Avanti Motor Corporation and would later go on to build the Avanti II out of left-over parts and used GM and Ford Chassis and running gears to continue to build small batch cars for a number of years until the 1980's. This particular car is a running, driving, shifting and stopping car with decent rubber. I am actually quite surprised on how well it starts and goes down the road. The paint and interior are rough although very complete. The underside of the car (see pics) is rough in spots and the "hog troughs" are completely gone and there is some frame corrosion. This car could be turned in to a hot rod, a resto mod or just fine tune some things and drive it as is. This car comes to us from a widow whose deceased husband purchased the car so we do not know a whole lot about it. We welcome any questions and inspections here in our Traverse City location.
