[isdntekvideo] Thank you for viewing my auction. After being disappointed by all the ratty other collector vehicles out there and looking at this one, please feel free to message me. This 1950 Studebaker 2R5 1/2 ton pick up is exceptionally nice from top to bottom and is 100% sorted. Everything works and nothing leaks besides a small drip from the speedometer cable which is most likely an o-ring where cable screws to transmission housing. It will be fixed before the truck ships. Truck has 68K original miles and less than 20K on the Chevrolet small block 383 stroker engine and 3 speed automatic transmission. It starts the first turn of the key and is tuned to perfection with no flat spots and has tons of power. Does not ping on pump gas. A huge amount of time was spent making sure that everything worked properly and that is was easy to drive, and be reliable. The duel Flowmaster exhaust sounds amazing and it doesn't smoke or smell like unburned fuel. Everything works in unison so there are no issues. Truck was special ordered in September, 1949 by my close friend's grandfather in Reading, Massachusetts. Was delivered on October 10th, 1949 and driven to his ranch in Joshua Tree, CA a week later where the truck remained up until 2013. It was always a second vehicle and only driven for pleasure drives on nice days and was ordered in Iroquois Blue and was kept by him until his death in 1988, where my friends father took over the truck and remained in the desert. It was repainted its original color in 1989. No bodywork was needed it was basically a scuff and repaint. In 1993 the 383 stroker engine and 3 speed transmission were installed. It is around 400HP and runs and sounds fantastic. Has ported and polished heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake and 650 CFM carburetor, a nice cam, electronic ignition, and headers. He kept the truck up until his death in 2013 when my friend that owns it now inherited it from his father and had it shipped to his home in Massachusetts. He had it painted in 2018 in the dark blue metallic and red. It is a very nice paint job but not a show quality. Truck has all original body panels and has never been rusty or in any type of accident. Motor is said to produce 400 HP and 380 ft lbs. It feels every bit of that, if not more. Tons of power for something so light! Only 20K miles since engine and trans installed in 1993 and 48K original miles before then. 68K miles total on the chassis. It has been stored since new in dry climates and garaged and only driven on nice days as you can clearly tell by how clean the underside is. Any other collector vehicle you may be looking at, make sure they have underside shots. Even super low mileage vehicles, if stored in humid area, the undersides are rusty and corroded just from the moist air. This one is super clean and the many underside pictures show this. It is very solid! This Studebaker is as solid and amazing as can be and very quick due to it's well built engine and light weight! The later model bucket seats are actually very comfortable with the padding, even on longer trips. Original bench seat shown in the pictures link will come with the truck. The 4 wheel drum brakes are properly adjusted and stop the truck very well too. I am sure you won't find another like it, or even close!! Steering and suspension is tight and my friend's wife as shown in the videos has driven it often, It is easy to drive, stop, steer and park. Windows roll up and down properly. The metal is very thick and the truck is built like a tank! You can drive this truckanywhere, anytime. It is reliable, simple and easy to drive. Mileage may also vary minimally as truck may be driven for supervised test drives and/or inspections and it is driven after letting it warm up to keep fluids flowing through all systems every 4 weeks at least, weather permitting.
