Vehicle Description

1935 20/25 Rolls Royce Limousine

This elegant 20/25 Rolls Royce Limousine was originally purchased in London in 1935 by Lady Bicket. At the time of her purchase, Lady Bicket already owned at least one other limousine. The Rolls-Royce 20/25, produced between 1929 and 1936, was a popular model among the British upper class. It was known for its reliability and smooth performance, making it a favored choice for custom coachbuilders to showcase their craftsmanship.

Lady Bicket’s selected coachbuilder was Hooper & Co. This company was established in Westminster, London in 1805 and was a renowned British coachbuilding company. Since Hooper & Co. specialized in creating luxurious custom bodies for high-end vehicles, many wealthy individuals often commissioned bespoke vehicles to reflect their status and personal taste. By 1935, Hooper had solidified its reputation for crafting elegant and stately carriages, often catering to royalty and the aristocracy. They were known as the coachbuilder for the Royal Family.

I know little about the vehicle’s history and journey to and ownership within America, except that in 2002 I purchased it from a vintage car enthusiast in Oakland, California. I have made no aesthetic modifications to the car since I bought it.

I’ve owned the limousine for 23 years and drove it periodically on weekends for many years until I moved out of state. When driving around the city, it always turned heads and elicited enthusiastic waves, cheers, and smiles from kids and adults of all ages. The car was treated well when it was at my house, as it was always garaged and ready to go. For the past 8 years it has been in a secure automotive warehouse in Portland, Oregon.

In September 2024, I had the car thoroughly serviced and restored to running condition. As noted in the attached service invoice, the mechanic stated that the suspension, shifting, steering, and braking were all good. The total cost of this service was just over $3,500.Generally, the body and interior are in good condition. There is some damage at the front passenger door that resulted when the shipper forgot to latch the door before it was driven to storage. There are also a couple of dents in the front fender that could probably be easily popped out. The sale price is for the purchase of this car as is. Any and all taxes and fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

I’ve included a few photos. The outdoor photos were taken before I moved the car to storage. The photos within the warehouse were taken recently when I inspected the car after it was serviced.I loved driving this car, but it is now time for it to find a new home. It needs to get back on the road again!
