Vehicle Description

This 1973 Porsche 914 was first sold by Neufeld Porsche of San Carlos, California, and acquired in 1987 by the seller’s father, who commissioned the installation of a 2.2L air-cooled flat-six engine in 1991. Additional work performed at that time included repainting the body in the factory hue of Saturn Yellow, retrimming the seats in black vinyl with houndstooth inserts, and installing Weber 40 IDA carburetors, 5×130 hubs, and 15″ Fuchs wheels with body-color accents. Additional details include a JVC cassette stereo, a removable Targa top, disc brakes, a five-speed manual transaxle, and an aluminum oil tank. The car was acquired by the seller in 1999 and placed in long-term storage from 2005 to 2023 when it was sent to Mobile Works West of Grass Valley, California, to be recommissioned in preparation for the sale. This 914 is now offered with the owner’s manual, a service logbook, repair manuals, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The front and rear hubs were swapped out in favor of units with a 5×130 bolt pattern, bolt-on spacers were fitted up front, and 911-sourced 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels measuring 6″ in width and mounted with 195/60 Yokohama Avid Ascent GT tires were installed. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with ATE calipers. The two-way adjustable bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with houndstooth inserts. Amenities include a carpeted dashboard cover, a JVC cassette stereo, and a cigarette lighter. The dashboard is cracked and the VDO/Kienzle clock does not work The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a fuel-level gauge. Readouts for voltage and engine temperature are housed in the center stack. The five-digit mechanical odometer is inoperative, therefore true mileage is unknown.
