Owner’s Notes
“For sale is a classic 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ Coupe, a rare find and a true survivor. This beauty just had $1,500 of work done including: gas tank repair, shocks, springs, tire mounts etc. This is the LJ model, equipped with the original 455 cubic inch V8—a motor that was officially discontinued after 1975, making this one of the few pre-ordered examples built with it in 1976. The car is all original, fully numbered, and fully powered. I’ve been the second owner for over 25 years, and the car has been garage-stored for the last 20, waiting for a full restoration I had always planned—but due to age and health, it’s time to pass it on to someone who can finish the journey. Recently, I installed new shocks and rear coil springs, and both the brakes and front end have been inspected and are in excellent condition. The car runs and drives like new, with that unmistakable Pontiac muscle feel. Also included is the original 1976 shop manual.
Additionally, I have several high-value extra parts available, which can be negotiated as part of the sale or separately: A set of rebuilt 6X Pontiac performance heads, ported and polished (still in plastic wrap, never installed); Both front fenders, professionally redone to new condition and rust-free; A new trunk lid in perfect condition; Two chrome wheel well moldings, still in original factory packaging; A set of American Racing Outlaw Centerline Rims, mounted on P255/60 R15 tires with ~70% tread remaining, complete with center caps and lug nuts in like-new condition; Instrument panel with tachometer that can replace the clock.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Pontiac enthusiast or collector to own a rare, powerful, and well-preserved piece of GM history.”
