Vehicle Description

This 1960 Pontiac Catalina was purchased by the current owner in 2000 and underwent eight years of modification and refurbishment work that was completed in 2022. Power is provided by a tri-power-topped replacement 389ci V8 and mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and it is refinished in metallic black over black and gray leather interior. Bodywork involved lengthening the quarter panels, shaving the door handles and trim, and adding 1959 Cadillac tail lights. The suspension was lowered and a custom interior was installed. Additional equipment includes 14″ eight-lug steel wheels, power-assisted brakes, power steering, power windows, and an aftermarket stereo system.The car is refinished in metallic black with silver stripes, and bodywork involved lengthening the quarter panels, shaving the door handles, adding Frenched antennas, painting the headlight bezels, removing the reverse lights, emblems, stainless trim, and hood trim, and filling the package tray joints. The fuel filler was relocated behind the license plate, exhaust outlets through the rear quarter panels were added, 1959 Cadillac tail lights were installed, and the glass and window trim were replaced.
The 14″ eight-lug steel wheels are mounted with whitewall tires. The suspension is lowered, and the front springs and the steering components are chromed. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by four-wheel power-assisted drum brakes.
The individual seats are said to have been sourced from a 1963 Grand Prix and are reupholstered in black and gray leather. The trunk was also reupholstered to match. Interior appointments include a center console, power windows, and an aftermarket stereo system. The heater and the ashtrays were removed.
The two-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and fronts a replacement instrument cluster consisting of a 120-mph sweep speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, fuel level, and oil pressure. The selling dealer states that the tachometer in the center console was sourced from a 1963 Grand Prix. The five-digit odometer shows 20 miles, which is said to represent the mileage since the build was completed.
The replacement 389ci V8 is said to be bored .030″ over, and it features three chrome-finished two-barrel carburetors accompanied by a matching intake manifold, valve covers, and accessories. The firewall was smoothed, the frame rails were covered, and the inner fenders were painted black with silver graphics. An electric fan and replacement wiring harness were installed, and the battery was relocated behind the grille.
The four-speed manual transmission is said to have been sourced from a 1962 Buick, and the rear-end has 3.42:1 gearing. A custom driveshaft and exhaust are fitted.
