Vehicle Description

In late 1987 my Mother, then in her 40's, went to the Pontiac Dealership and ordered this car. It is a one owner, original Trans Am. Original, never rusted sheet metal. No body filler. Always garage kept. She chose each of the options herself. The exterior color, bright red, was chosen by her because she was a redhead. She also chose a couple options not often seen on this year TA. The T Tops, which I do not know why she opted for them, because I can count on one hand how many times she had ever removed them. And the rear hatchback defogger. She chose a 5.0 liter HO engine, with automatic 4 speed overdrive and optional W6S suspension, which was standard on the GTA but an option on the coupe models. The W6S is a handling upgrade sporting beefier front and rear stabilizer bars, and wider/taller tires, P245/50vR16." IF TRANSORT IS REQUIRED, I WILL ASSIST WITH HELPING MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. THIS WAS MY MOM'S CAR, AND I WANT TO SEE IT ARRIVE AT THE NEW OWNER'S DOOR, JUST AS IT LEAVES MY GARAGE.The production numbers of the 1988 Pontiac Trans Am coupe are significantly lower than those of the GTA, coming in just under 8,800, all being manufactured in the Van Nuys, California plant. The 1988 TA has the fifth lowest production numbers of all the third generation Trans Ams. You do not often see them, and rarely do you see them with T tops. This car was only driven by my Mother. Never driven in snow, and only driven in rain if she was caught on one of her trips to the grocery store, and it happened to rain. If it started raining before she arrived at the grocery store, we would do without that day, because she would turn around and come back home, leaving grocery shopping for anoher day. When she returned home she immediately pulled it into the garage and wiped the water off it. If there was a hint of rain, the car was not taken out of the garage. It was never smoked in, nor were any pets allowed in it and I don't recall anyone sitting in the back seats. The interior is cloth, light gray and as close to like new as you will find in an almost 40 year old car. The car will show two owners. I took possession of the TA last year when my Mother passed away. I have never driven it. I am confined to a wheelchair and unable to drive without adaptive equipment. I also have a 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix that belonged to my Mother. It has a rare power moonroof, and the engine has been rebuilt and she rarely drove it after the rebuild. It was driven less than 200 miles since the rebuild, and is rust free. It has a 350 engine. I will probably be listing her on Ebay soon. The GP is not included in this sale and is only shown as a preview to her future listing.Power windows, power brakes, air conditioning (very cold), intermittent windshield wipers, cruise control, am/fm cassette player, factory tachometer.Inspection and test drives are welcome and encouraged.
