1970 PONTIAC LEMANS SPORT 400 Hardtop Coupe73K Original Miles, California Car Since NewThis is a very original LeMans Sport 400 equipped from the factory with some really cool options. A copy of the original window sticker is in the photo gallery. A hard copy comes with the car as well as a build sheet and other stuff from PHS:

This is basically a GTO in LeMans clothing. The car has just 73,235 original miles on it and was sold new in Santa Monica, CA and has remained here in California its whole life.It is Verduro green with black vinyl upholstery. The body is completely rust free and has never been in an accident. Every piece of sheetmetal is original. The paint is dull in spots with flaws and there are several shades of green as a couple of panels have been resprayed with a poor color match. The right door, fender and the hood are still original (fairly dull) paint. Overall the car has a great patina. The chrome is all EXCELLENT-shiny and free of pits or rust.The black vinyl top was redone professionally and looks as new. The upholstery is 100% original and is flawless except for a tiny split area of the dash above the glovebox-see photos. The seats, door panels and headliner are like new with no rips or tears. The original carpet is still excellent with a just little bit of fading. The original retracting seatbelts work perfectly. The optional shoulder belts (never used) are still folded on the headliner above each door. The interior is even better than you'd expect from a 73k mile car that has been well cared for.This LeMans has a replacement 400 engine from a 1974 Trans Am. The original high compression heads and original 4 barrel carb were used on this engine. The valve cover gaskets and the fan clutch were recently replaced. The car still retains its original Turbo 400 transmission and limited slip ("SAFE-T-TRACK") rear end. The engine starts immediately, runs great, has TONS of power and doesn't leak or smoke. A new brake master cylinder was installed last month as well as 4 new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. It drives, shifts and stops just like it should and needs nothing mechanically.Every light, switch and control works flawlessly with the exception of the clock and the fuel gauge. The air conditioning blows "cool" and needs an R12 freon recharge (which is nearly impossible in California....) or a conversion to R134a.There is a reasonable reserve on this auction.
