Vehicle Description

1970 Trans AmWow the Iconic white 70 trans Am with Blue Deluxe interior was sitting in a garage for many years, until the owner passed away and I purchased it form the estate. The car was purchased forma classic car dealer for 51K in 2010, I have the sales slip. Clean Indiana title in my name. I am going to brake down the car in sections for quick reading.EngineI brought the car home changed the oil, plugs and wires as well as added a new battery and low and behold it started right up after throwing some gas in the carb. It held an idle and shows almost 40 pounds of oil pressure. The more the engine runs the better it gets as the gas has a bad smell to it. See video of me doing a quick burnout in front of the house. Engine is a 400 with the YZ code on the block. The numbers down by the water pump is 2081?? the back of one cylinder head says "ported by Greg Merrick mild street 5 05" Also the engine has ARP head bolts. Scoop has two small electric solenoids as well as switch on the carb.TransThe trans mission is a Turbo 400 that works well with an aftermarket converter. I have the original pan also. The trans is not original as it has a 75 date.Rear EndThe rear end is a Chevy 12 bolt posi with no codes found and the ratio is mid 3's. Missing is the rear sway bar as it had bolt on traction bars when I got it.BodyThe Body is super solid with no rust found on the outside of the car. See video of me using a magnet around the lower body panels.UndercarriageThe under carriage appears to be in good shape however in the past someone had put a very heavy coat of soft under coating everywhere. It is the kind the is like a heavy oil, in fact it is heavy enough to have dripped onto the rear end. It does however come off fairly easy with a razor blade and then maybe some gas. What it needs that not obviouspower windows are slow up and somewhat down--dome light stays on--water temp gauge and clock do not work--original radio is in the back seat--wiper motor is off--SummeryHagerty values this car as 31k in fair shape and 54K in good shape. It will not take that much to bring this car around to good shape.I live one hour north of Indy and you can see this car by calling me at 765 2o6 o35o. Also I have videos of this car running extra but having a tough time getting them to load- I think I am going to try You Tube ---please feel free to call for a honest answerreserve the right to end auction at any time
