1974 pontiac

Vehicle Description
Very rare 1974 Pontiac Ventura 2 door coupe (Y27). It is in 100% original, unmodified condition and comes with a number matching 350 V8 with only 81,000 original miles. It is a Californian car built out of Van Nuys plant.
Mechanically, it is in good condition- strong motor, brakes and tires are good and an automatic transmission that shifts smoothly through all the gears. It is a factory air car- although the AC unit may need to be serviced (the belt is missing). But itruns and drives great and has current Californian registration.
The paint is all original paint- Cameo White – and it is relatively rust-free. There are some areas with surface rust (see images) and the rockers panels will some need attention, but the body is straight with no missing parts or trim, it evens has the original hubcaps.
The chrome bumpers need to be dipped (or replaced), but personally, I wouldn’t bother- on the Nova's, everyone just gets rid of them (and the extensions) and back date them to the 71-72 versions for a cleaner look.
Inside, the rear and passenger seats are clean with no rips or tears, but the driver seat fabric is torn. Also, the carpet on the driver’s side is ripped as well- I took the cover off the seats and removed the floor mats before I took the pictures so you can see the extent of it.The 8-track player still works, but there are some cracks in the dash pad and the headliner is toast…that glue gave up long ago.
Overall, this would be a great project car.
-It is a foundationally sound, largely rust-free vehicle and all the hard-to-find parts are there.
-You can drive it around and enjoy it while you source parts and specialty shops for the labor- which is a much better scenario than having it sit in your garage collecting dust until you can get to it.
-All the Pontiac V8 engines (287’s to the 455’s) of this era were externally the same dimension-close to the same weight. Which makes it easy to swap up
-And since it is a GM X-Body platform, drivetrain and suspension parts are readily available and budget friendly.
