Vehicle Description

The 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, factory M Code, A12, 440-6BBL car

Vehicle Details

1969 1/2 Road Runner M code

One of 3 real A12 1969 1/2 Road Runner M code 440-6 BBL RM21 Post Coupe auto cars built in Bronzefire Metallic.

Only two owners ever and just 22,000 actual miles. This car has been featured and shown at the Carlisle 50th Anniversary Invitational car show in Pennsylvania, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in Chicago and Mopar’s in the Park National Car Show in Minnesota. It’s a clean original sheet metal car, but does have some day two racing history mods. The car was mini tubbed, frames tied, rear springs moved in, front disc brakes and all were done way back in the early ‘70s. The work was done nicely and remains on the car today. It also has an old school roll bar and a few other racing tricks. The car has a complete date code correct E440 HP2 engine, 727 transmission and 4.10 Dana 60 rear end. It’s got the original 6bbl carburetors and intake, original 054 Radiator, original air cleaner, original hood, original factory tach and more. It’s an extremely fun street car, all sorted out, runs perfect and gets a ton of looks wherever it goes. The modifications certainly could be reversed if you wanted to return the car to all original, but I found that leaving them intact has been more fun and more interesting because of the car’s history. It has one older repaint that has held up very well with some minor imperfections. All of the body numbers match, the original fender tag is there along with the original Vin tag and I also have the original owners manual with the M code 440-6BBL insert. The hood is a real and the original lift off fiberglass hood. The glass, the door panels, the dash and headliner are all original. I had the seat upholstery redone at Legendary Interiors with NOS materials and the carpet was replaced to original standards.

It has custom made red line 325 50-15 Nitto drag radials on the rear and custom red line radials on the front. All mounted on steel wheels for that factory look. The spare tire is original and on an H code wheel.

The car was awarded a preservation plaque at Carlisle and has earned several other trophies during my ownership. It’s an extremely unique car and it has been fun to own.
