Vehicle Description

RARE 1969 Plymouth Satellite "MOD TOP" car including all tags (VIN and fender) and a clear title in need of a full restoration. This is NOT a weekend project and when finished will be one of the most unique cars you'll ever find. The F2Q Plymouth Satellite version of the "Mod Top" was a psychedelic package offered in 1969 only. The F2Q option consisted of a blue-green floral patterned vinyl roof with matching patterned inserts in the seats and door panels. Mod Top chrome nameplates adorned the rear roof pillars on each side. A similar car was featured on the cover of Mopar Collector's Guide in January 1995 and listed as one of the Top 10 cars of the year. For additional research, more information is available thanks to Jim Moore at the Mod Top Registryhttp://www.mooresmopars.com/modregistry.html if you'd like to see examples of the various options and color packages available. I've also included 2 pictures (for reference only) of a similarly optioned car that was on display at a past Mopar Nationals event.

Fender tag reads:

M33 R11 V1Q END

A01 A04 G33 J25 L31 M21

B5 B5 F2Q B7 910 078973

E44 D31 RH23 F9G 117###

Noteworthy options include the F2Q Mod Top package, A04 group including power windows and 3-speed wipers, fender mounted turn signals, and a Tuesday, September 10, 1968 build date which makes it tied for 4th in order of the earliest known build dates for all 44 of the RH23 Mod Top Satellites in the registry. Likely a 1 of 1 car considering this combination of options.

As obvious in the pictures, the car is a challenging restoration requiring significant rust repair, likely including at least partial replacement of the rear frame rails. Please e-mail with any questions.
