Vehicle Description

  • 1939 Packard 120 Club Sedan. This is the only 120 Club Sedan built by Packard in 1939. Thought to be the proto type for 1940 Club Sedan, but with WW2 becoming active the car was purchased by U.S. government in 1939 for use as Navy Staff Car. This car was captured by Japan at Cavit Navel Yard Philippines 1941 returned to U.S. at the end of WW2. The car was shipped back to SanDiego CA then sold as surplus equipment. Documented History VIN number AB319215 is not normal sequence for Packard and theengine has matching numbers. The engine was professionally rebuilt, along with the transmission and overdrive unit. Brake system completely rebuilt, wheel cylinders brake shoes, brake lines. Electrical system converted to 12 Volts negative ground with generator rebuilt as alternator to appear original. New wiring and LED lights. New seat coverings. 5 new tires with 3 inch white walls. New radiator with hidden electric fans behind grill. New Battery. The car has a special Earle C Anthony flying lady hood ornament. When I bought the car it was battleship gray but I repainted it about 4 years ago. The car has been driven about 300 miles on new engine. Lots of extra parts that go with the cars sale. Car drives like a Packard which were known as the RollRoyce of American cars. I have driven the car to 2 car shows and received trophy's at both shows. This is a real head turner and photo magnet.
