For sale:

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 (454ci/450hp) coupe. This car was originally delivered to Earl Johnson Chevrolet in Peoria, Illinois. The car retains its born with original drivetrain and is a true 4 owner car documented by itsoriginal build sheet, and copy of old titles. The Chevelle was certified by leading LS6 Chevelle expertRick Nelson of Muscle Car Restoration and Design.


Drivetrain:

The car retains its original engine (454ci/450hp), original TH400 automatic transmission and original CRV 3:31 ratio posi rear end. It also retains the original VIN and Cowl tags. This is an 02A built car. This car starts with a fast idle, idles and drives beautifully. Allassessorialengine compartment parts are correct for this car (carburetor, starter, alternator, water pump, smog system, intake manifold, distribution, cylinder heads, radiator and more). Please reference photos of the dated components in the auction.


Body:

The Chevelle retains its original quarter panels, driver fender, doors, hood, deck lid and more. Color is Forest Green (code 48 48).In the 1980’s the exterior was re-painted in lacquer which included replacing the driver side front fender. All other sheet metal is original to the car. Per Rick's inspection report, an NOS fender was used during the repaint process. The original hood was retained.

Interior:

The interior color isdark green (code 796).The interior shows exceptionally well and is representativeof a real 63,000 mile car. The dark green interior is in mint condition. Dash, gauges, carpet, headliner, seat belts, etc are all original to this car from 1970. The seat covers and front door panels have been replaced.

Rick Nelson further enhanced the car by installing originalshocks, original exhaust components, and several otherLS6 specific items (please see the report). Most recently the car recievedan oil change and a new set of spark plugs. It is currently riding on Coker Bias Ply looking Radial tires and is ready to be driven and enjoyed on the street.
