Condition:

This 1978 Citroën HY van was imported into the U.S. in 2021 as a fully restored custom box truck, professionally rebuilt in the UK. The restoration included a complete engine rebuild, a fully refurbished original front cab, and the addition of a brand-new cargo box constructed from stainless steel and aluminum—a major upgrade designed to eliminate the rust issues common in vintage Citroën vans.

Shortly after import, the vehicle underwent a full commercial food truck interior buildout in 2021, transforming it into a fully operational vegan ice cream truck. Since then, it has been used in numerous pop-ups and brand activations for both national and international brands.

The truck is in running condition and fully operational. There are a few small areas in the front cab where surface rust began to form on the original steel panels; these have been treated and primered to prevent further corrosion. The rear cargo section remains in excellent condition due to its modern, rust-resistant construction.

This is a rare and beautifully restored vintage vehicle that combines charm and functionality, perfect for food service, events, or brand marketing.
