Thanks for taking a look at a cool 1973 Ford Pinto station wagon.
Remember when these were everywhere? Yep, us too. For most though, it's been a very, very long time.
Time and time again, this little Pinto brings smiles and stories. When we have visitors to Driven.co, perhaps to view our Brubaker Box, some exotic or race car, the Pinto ends up stealing the show. Every. Time. People always have a story about the Pinto they knew. And just so we get it out of the way… it was the Pinto coupe not the wagon that occasionally turned into a fireball when rear ended really hard. The wagon was a different design and was not affected by the recall.
1973 was the end of an era for the automobile: insurance rates were on the rise, gas was getting more expensive ($0.47 cents!!) and the safety rules were around the corner for 1974 with giant ugly bumpers slapped on everything.
