Vehicle Description

1959 Corvette Estate car. Previous owner bought the Corvette in July 1987 and the original engine had expired so he found a correct replacement 283 and put the fuel injection on that engine. It is the correct '59 injection ending in 7200 as shown on the tag on the plenum. (70172000 is standard camshaft injection for 1959). The Vette retains the original BW T-10 four speed aluminum transmission with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter replacing the sloppy stock shifter. Stock original steering wheel. Seats had been recovered some time ago and the driver's seat has a split as seen in the photos. Original instrumentation. It has the original removable hardtop and also has the soft top bows and mechanisms but needs to be recovered. At one time in the '70s the front end was "Shark Nosed" as they referred to the procedure, where the inset part of the front end where the bumpers set into was put together basically deleting the front bumpers. I have an NOS GM replacement front end shown in photo no. 29 to bring the Corvette back to original. And the trunk is filled with NOS and original replacement pieces shown on the table photos and the photo of the bumpers, brackets NOS quarter 'glass' for the hardtop, etc. The wheels at all four corners are original 15 x 7 American Racing aluminum 5 spoke Torque Thrust wheels with Pirelli radials mounted on them. No power steering, drum brakes. The last photo shows a place at the bottom of the body that has a split in it that needs attention. The Corvette has been sitting for about 6 years. I put Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder and turned over the engine by hand each day about a quarter of a turn to make sure everything was free inside. Put a new battery in the car and it spun right over. The next day I shot some fuel into the injector plenum and the Vette fired right up! The rear end is not a "P" case posi unit. The car has been sitting, inside storage for some time and will need attention to the fuel system, belts and hoses, cooling system, etc. before it can move on down the road. Always a Southwest car so no rust issues on the undercarriage. There are some minor flaws in the body but nothing major. And, after all it is a '59 Fuelie Corvette.....
