Vehicle Description

The actual VIN number is NCS82844

Major Components

  • Ford 351 Cleveland 4 bolt mains + 4V heads

  • Custom headers.

  • Custom roll bar, intended for track use, it’s difficult to get in & out.

  • Ford Motorsport T5 manual transmission.

  • Fuel Safe Systems racing fuel cell.

  • Front disk brakes, rear drum brakes.

  • Ford 9” rear end with 3.25:1 ratio, traction lock.

  • Corbeau Racing Seats

Why West Coast Cobra?

  • Road racing type chassis is very strong & protective (vs ladder frame)

  • Front suspension (Pinto / Mustang II) supports aftermarket upgrades.

  • Rear suspension is 4-bar Ford 9”.

  • It’s a bit larger than the original.

Why not West Cobra?

  • Not an exact replica.

  • It was fairly difficult to build, but that’s mostly done.

  • Lots of custom work was required.

  • Definitely not for beginners who are looking for quick & easy.

So why am I selling it?

  • I bought it when I was young, before kids. I’m retired now with different priorities.

So what will it take to finish it?

  • It needs fine tuning of the carburettor and distributor.

  • I’d go with a lower rear end ratio - probably 3.75:1

  • I’d put disk brakes on the rear.

  • The current bell housing is large. A stock unit would improve ground clearance.

  • I’d upgrade the stock Ford front suspension with an adjustable coil over setup.

  • The seats need to be recovered.

  • It needs all the body work and interior work of any kit car. Your budget, your taste.
