Vehicle Description

Vehicle Original VIN : 344870M140867
Often considered one of the high points in the muscle car era, and even more so for Oldsmobile, the 442 stands proudly as a flagship car for the Golden Age of high-horsepower vehicles. This particular 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 has an older repaint in a captivating shade of burgundy, complemented by its matching black hardtop and matching black hood stripes. Thanks to its streamlined Holiday Hardtop design, this awesome Olds look aggressive from any angle.
Inside, we find a mostly original stock and correct saddle vinyl interior. A center console separates twin bucket seats, while a trick power-assisted Grant GT wheel sits just ahead of a trio of Rally Pack gauges. At the same time, another triplet of Sunpro auxiliary gauges is mounted under the dashboard, while a Retro Sound AM/FM/AUX head unit with a digital display takes the place of the original unit.
Under the hood, we find a custom-built 455 cubic-inch overhead valve V-8 engine. Bored 0.30 over, balanced, and equipped with a mild performance cam, this big block is fed through an ample 750 cfm Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and air gap intake manifold. Spent gases are expelled through long tube headers before the three-inch exhaust gives way to a set of FlowMaster mufflers, giving this old-school muscle car a growl commensurate with its power. Power is routed through a built TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a 2500 stall converter before heading out to the 12-bolt rear, which transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of polished 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels shod in 225/60R-15 BFGoodrich rubber.
