Vehicle Description

1937 Oldsmobile coupe project car. All welding and body work is completed. I removed the body from frame to clean and paint the underside and frame with Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. Rust was cutout and patches welded in. A smooth painted firewall is bolted over the repaired firewall. Doors and trunk close nicely. The hard jobs are done.

  • Missing: one headlight ring, battery cables, carpet, door panels, headliner, radio, gas filler tube rubber, heater and A/C.
  • What is wrong: gas tank is rusty, one lug bolt broken, tires are rotten, paint is bad. At 10 feet the paint looks great, but at 5 feet, you can see tiny blisters. I think the Dupli Color lacquer paint reacted with the paint underneath. Old wipers need converting to electric. Included is an old battery for trade-in. There are some old, mismatched gauges. The paint is scratched all over and needs respraying. NO DENTS.
  • New parts: wiring harness, chrome taillights, mufflers, window rubber, mirrors, window cranks, rear window glasses, front turn signal lights, chrome master cylinder and chrome power booster.A 3-inch lowering kit for the rear is included.
  • All the exterior trim is in the car.All the window mechanisms are in the car.All old glass is included.Windshield and door windows are not installed.Leather electric seats from a 2004 Tahoe are not bolted down. All the bumpers, brackets, and bolts for front and rear bumpers are in the trunk. The window trim inside the car was chromed a long time ago.The wing vents are complete, but rusty.Hood trim is in the trunk. The running boards are in the trunk. The car is stuffed full of parts.
  • I don’t know much about the motor and trans. The motor has a tag that says it is an 80-44 305 GM 5.0L NAPA crate motor, with 0.003 bore and 11:1 piston. It has roller rocker arms, aluminum intake, 650 Edelbrock carburetor. The automatic transmission (I think) is a TH400.I think the diff ratio is 2.73:1.It was running when I parked it.I don’t know the miles on either. I drove it the 100 yards from the delivery truck to the garage and then disassembled it.
  • I rebuilt the front end with disk brakes. All bushings have been replaced. The front clip is from a ‘74 Nova and the rear end is (I think) from a ‘69 Camero. The rear brakes need replacing. The front needs alignment.
  • It is a "roller". The steering is connected, but the brakes are not.Parking brake is not installed.Shifter is not connected. There is a column shift and a floor shifter included, you decide.Because the windshield and door glasses are not installed, I recommend a covered trailer.Rear and side windows are in with new rubber. I will help load the car. I can wench it onto a trailer.
  • Why I am selling it:I bought this car to build for my wife.About a year after I started on this project, she was killed by a drunk driver. I can’t finish it.I have the previous Bill of Sale and I will give you a new Bill of Sale. There is no title required in Georgia. The reserve is set way below what I've spent on it.
