1951 Nash Ambassador Custom Airflyte Sedan
Located near PORTLAND, OREGON
COMPLETELY ORIGINAL AND UNRESTORED. This 1951 Nash Ambassador Airflyte Sedan was sold new in California and lived there most of its life. 3 owners from new, with the two most recent being collectors. JUST 19,289 ACTUAL MILES. Truly a time capsule of early 1950's mid-century modern motoring style. Finished in original factory "Cruiser Dark Gray" (Paint code #19) this car has never been re-painted. Finish is excellent throughout with only a couple of small spots of rubbing from polishing over the past 74 years. One very minor (half-dollar-sized) shallow dimple on the driver's side rear fender. Likely something bumped it while in the garage. Very hard to see but do want to mention it. Otherwise the body is straight and accident-free. The chrome and trim are excellent bright and original, with only a few areas of age showing on some of the surfaces. Tires are older but fine for local driving around town. Interior is also completely original. Upholstery is very good throughout with only a couple of tiny pulls at the base of the driver's seat. The foam cushions beneath the fabric are original. Door panels are excellent with only a minor bit of wear on the driver's door arm rest. Carpeting is original and in very good condition, as is the headliner. Excellent original rubber door sill mats and gaskets. The legendary folding "Nash Seats" operate easily and allow them to be folded into a flat bed for sleeping when on the road and the local Holiday Inn has no guest rooms available! Dome light works. All gauges work and register accurately. The chrome plating inside looks like new. The "Weather Eye" heater works. AM radio and clock are present but inactive at this time. Trunk is clean with original lining. Includes manuals, spare seat fabric, original jack and spare tire. The 235 cubic inch OHV 6 cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. Excellent oil pressure. Runs cool. New 6 volt battery. Rated at 115 horsepower, this is a peppy car on the road and with the easy-shifting 3-speed manual overdrive transmission makes it enjoyable in modern traffic. Brakes stop smooth and straight. Truly a pleasure to drive. Undercarriage is clean and original. Newer exhaust system and muffler. If you are looking for a fine quality, compact (just 17-1/2 feet long) car that you don't see every day but will turn heads wherever you go, this is the one. Would be welcome in "preservation class" showings anywhere. WE HAPPILY SELL TO BUYERS WORLDWIDE AND CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING ANYWHERE.
