I was told this is the ACTUAL DEMO CAR THAT WAS FACTORY BUILD AS SHOW ON THE FACTORY COLOUR BROCHURE.
SOME HISTORY
This MINI was acquired in UK over 12 years ago and then shipped to the USA. About 3 years ago it was purchased by my friend and imported into Canada and never driven in winter nor rain.
ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY
- A steel frame is incorporated in each door surround to give added stiffness, additional side impact protection and positive location for the door hinges and latches. The top seat belt mounting is welded to this framed as is the inertia reel mounting plate, the whole frame being bonded into the body.
- The basis is a very high quality glass reinforced one piece body moulding.
ENGINE:
A fully rebuild GOLD SEAL 998 motor was purchased in the UK and imported into installed on this MINI about 5 years ago.
A Gold Seal engine is a reconditioned BtMC/British Leyland replacement engine, which underwent a higher standard of overhaul than a Silver Seal engine. These engines were stripped, cleaned, and inspected, with worn parts replaced or reground to new specifications, often including a new water pump, thermostat, and spark plugs. They were sold by Unipart as factory reconditioned units, identifiable by the "Gold Seal" designation which indicated a factory-approved, meticulously rebuilt engine for exchange.
TRANSMISSION:
A fully reconditioned 4 speed manual gearbox was also acquired and installed in this MINI along with a brand new clutch assembly.
BODY:
The factory original CARNIVAL RED paint is in excellent condition for the year and still shines as seen in the photos and the videos.
INTERIOR:
Factory installed RECARO TYPE leather seats with gorgeous WOOD STEERING wheel and shift knob (the original steering wheel and hub comes with the car)
WHEELS/TIRES:
Brand new 12” STAR MAG wheels with brand new NANKANG 145/70 R12 tires professionally balanced and installed.
