This Mini presents well overall, wearing an older restoration that still shows attractively despite a few flaws. The body was stripped and refinished in Almond Green with side marker deletions and rust repairs performed on the A-pillars. Replacement front fenders and bonnet were sourced, and the bonnet painted to match in 2022. Exterior trim, including the roof rack, grille, and bumpers, present in good condition. Paint bubbles are visible on the windshield cowl, and some overspray is noted on the rain rails, but these do not detract from the car's overall charming appearance.
Inside, the cabin has been refurbished with black vinyl upholstery on the bucket seats and rear bench. Carpeting is in good condition, and the aftermarket stereo is neatly integrated under the dash. All of the glass, including the windshield and side windows, is in great condition with no cracks or chips. All gauges function as intended, and the centrally mounted speedometer adds to the classic Mini aesthetic. The engine bay is tidy and features the overhauled 998cc inline-four with a finned valve cover and clean carburetor setup. Mechanically, the car runs well, shifting cleanly through its four-speed manual gearbox. Like most classic Minis, it does exhibit the typical minor oil seepage from the engine/gearbox sump area-a well-known characteristic of these cars due to the shared oil system between engine and transmission.
This 1974 Mini 1000 represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a turn-key classic Mini with vintage looks and practical drivability. With its fresh interior, clean engine bay, and standout color combination, it's ideal for collectors, enthusiasts, or anyone seeking a unique and fun classic car. Included with the sale are service records, refurbishment photos, and a selection of spare parts, making this Mini ready for its next adventure.
