Vehicle Description

Up for grabs today in true auction style is a 1954 MG-TF The description is going to be a bit long but I really would like to answer any questions you may have that I know about this gem and give you as much information as possible so you can make an informed decision. I will explain everything I know good and bad so no surprises and no disappointments. I bought this car a little over a year ago out of California (no rust) and good bones although it did need some TLC but nothing really bad, mostly time and labor. She was one of the two cars on my bucket list and at 69 I'm running out of time. I was happy to find one this nice with in my budget, non-molested, 95% complete, no rust and wasn't going to cost a fortune to put on the road and be a pretty decent daily driver car. Well as my health has gotten worse over the last year I am unable to complete my project, so my loss is definitely going to be your gain but it is what it is and I'm not going to sulk about it or leave it to my kids to deal with (my son as already claimed my old Triumph and my daughter wants my truck) so this baby can bring some joy to someone else. The car is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied but I will do my best to share everything I either know or have been told by the previous owner when I bought it, so on with the important stuff.
The car is super clean and straight except the mild previous damage on the fuel tank as seen in the pictures. Vehicle will run and runs well with the help of an external fuel supply, there is a slight leak on the banjo bolt on the outlet line at the tank, it is a bad gasket on the banjo bolt and I have the replacement gasket for it in the included parts. Fuel tank is clean and rust free. The cooling system is pretty much completely new, including new radiator, new water pump, new pully, new thermostat, new 7 blade flex fan, (for better cooling) new belt, new cap, and new hose's along with a replace Y-pipe. Everything is installed except the hose's and add the coolant. I also installed an auxiliary electric fan in front of the radiator but have not wired it in, honestly don't even know if it's needed or not but as you all know the old British cars don't like extreme heat so since the radiator is a real pain to get out I installed the fan just in case if was needed (I have to put one on my TR-3 so know they resolve any heating issues is needed) Brakes were completely done by the previous owner but the E brake does need adjusted. The carbs were also professionally rebuild about 2 years and the tires great. The seats and carpet are in really nice condition and I do have the complete set of side curtains but the top was destroyed on the transport from CA. to me (moss motors has a replacement for $600) no damage or chips to the windscreen and I didn't find any bondo in the body she is VERY clean underneath, no rust and no leaks. The drivers door latch was worn out but I have a replacement with the car but does need installed along with the turn signal switch. The front end steering feels tight along with the bearings. I'm sure the battery is dead at this point so I think that's the only thing I did not buy or have for it to get it going again. There is also a couple boxes of spare parts for it that will be in the car, I believe everything is there to get her drive-able again she just need some time spent to complete the installation of the remainder parts. I also have a full folder of receipts and shop manuals for it. Check my feedback, I have been a Ebay member for over 25 years with 100% feedback, although I don't sell a lot I have sold a number of cars and motorcycles over the years across the country and even a hot rod to Finland so bid with confidence.
