Vehicle Description
1954 Oklahoma/Texas car all its life, dry states = dry car.original color = BRG, now mostly sanded off and primed with Rustolieum HD primer., no through rust, just a little surface rust on bottomside.Interior is driver quality... and green.Chrome and alum. trim is good driver quality.. except for the f/r bumpers and uprights, those are fresh rechrome. I did not put the front-bumper on because I like that Morgan look. can put it on for shipping though.windshield is clear and uncracked.Top is brittle as toast, all 4 side curtains are there and just as dry. but top frames and sidecurtain frames are in fine shape.Tires are VG to Excellent.Brakes need work, will pump-up nicely but then fluid leaks out, E-brake is good.have all new rubber trim in boxs and most of the running board trim (alum. and rubber) new in box. along with a new timing belt and tensioner.
Engine and trans. were replaced in 1972 with a Ford pinto 4-cylinderr and 4-spd.The fellow who owned it got into senile dementia and the car had to be left in the garage for almost 6 years. He passed away and his widow had a local (Texas) mg-car-club-guy prep it and sell it to me.I put marvel-mystery oil in cylinders and let it sit a week, carefully turned over by hand.and then jumped the solonoid with the battery and it turned over nicely.Replaced the plugs and tried to start it, no fuel coming from the tank. hooked it up to a can of gas and it fired and idled nicely, revved it up a bit and the timing belt snapped. So did my patience.
A popular swap for the original 1.2 litre motor is the 1.8 litre mgb engine. Or just fiinish up the ford motor? your choice. OR if you have access to a 1.2 litre engine then you can go to back to original. They did not make many of the TF cars, just the end of 1954 to mid 1955.. Many people consider the TF to be the most beautiful of the T-series, me too. They usually sell for quite a bit more than the TD.
The car is priced well for:a solid and straight body.good solid frame, good wheels/tiresgood interiorgood glass and trim. You get to choose color and power-source.
CLEAR COLORADO TITLE IN HAND.At my age (76 last may), it gets harder and harder to get under the car. I sold my TD to finance the build on the TF....giving up now on LBCs
Can store the car for a couple of weeks as you get your shipping lined up.
and my set of witworth spanners and sockets go with the car as i won't be needing them again.
forgot to mention that a new heater motor assembly and two new park-lite assemblies (top of the f-fender) are included..
