1962 Mercury Meteor Base

For Sale, 962 Mercury Meteor. Pretty rare car, little longer than a Fairlane, ut smaller than a Galaxie.
Originally came with a 260 engine and a 2 speed fordomatic. It now has a strong running 200ci inline six off a 66 mustang (Pretty bulletproof engine with 7 main bearings! ) c4 3 speed transmission that shifts well.
Front end has been gone through. Lower ball joints were replaced ($150 bucks each)

Also these cars have a rare front lower control arm setup, hat has been upgraded ($350 for two bushings)

A few other bushings in the suspension were changed, aking it nice and smooth.
Brakes have been gone over, ew dual chamber master cylinder was installed ($75) along with new brake hardware. Car stops just like it should.
The car was cut into for reasons unknown, o a piece of sheetmetal is bolted into the transmission hump, ince car is a three speed now, t has a cable driven b&m megashifter that does a good job.
Seats have decent, lean upholstery. Needs carpet and headliner. Needs a door panel. Instrument panel has been upgraded to LED's. Currently trying to get the gauges to work, new voltage regulator has been installed, nd I may get them working this weekend.
Exterior could use a paint job and bodywork, as all chrome. Car is registered through 2016 (no insurance so $10 fee is due)
Overall this is a sweet little cruiser that just needs the owners touch. its a nice example of early 60's space age styling
